tired feet, happy heart

Still in last night’s afterglow, and I can’t understand why single folks are supposed to be bitter on Valentine’s Day because whatever occasions the party, if the scene is good and the playlist is undeniable then its a good time, right? My friend Katie has built, over the past four years, a truly momentous set which is wide-ranging but has bulwarks in early 90s hip-hop, Motown soul, and 80s dance music.  I still have “I Want You Back” stuck in my head.

Which: everything about this video is perfect: the goofy, protracted set-up, the absurd costumes, the dancing, the unapologetic lip-syncing. And the song. But I don’t think there’s anything new that I can say about that.
